SMART STUFF FOR YOUR BRAIN: WAKE UP YOUR BRAIN WITH MIND-FITNESS NUTRIENTS
Imagine that you're jogging around the reservoir in Central Park, New York City. A group of your less-active friends are sitting on a nearby bench watching you. They wave each time you pass, but choose not to get up and join you. You are all enjoying the weather and vistas of the city's skyline, but only one of you is really accomplishing anything. They're living for the moment while you're living for future days, as well as today.
Now picture the same kind of scenario in a mental milieu because mind fitness can be as exhilarating as is physical fitness. Think about the possibilities of getting more out of a learning experience than those around you: having material leap off the page with meaning and possibility when you read and remembering the meaning, details, and all you've learned, days or weeks later.
Certain people seem to be able to do this naturally. It's as if they have the Cliff Notes to life. We all probably know people who have seemingly boundless mental energy that allows them to learn and recall facts with relative ease and to squeeze more out of an hour's work than most of us accomplish in a day. These people enjoy the cerebral vitality and stamina that can come only from their brain's own smart chemicals—chemicals that your brain could probably use more of.
If you're a mental couch potato, don't despair. Mind-fitness nutrients will get you off the couch and onto the fast track of success and achievement. Maximum mental performers use their brains more because mind-fitness nutrients give their brains the mental energy to do so.
You may be familiar with the expression "hitting the wall," which marathon runners use to denote a state of physical exhaustion characterized by the lack of energy, muscle cramps, and debilitating fatigue. Even though you may never consider running twenty-six miles, you may have already run smack into another kind of wall—a mental wall that can cause mental burnout or just the lack of fresh and exciting ideas.
Over a decade ago, I showed world-class marathon runners how to avoid hitting the wall by following a diet that is high in complex carbohydrates, low in fat, and moderate in protein. When I first started telling coaches, trainers, and team physicians about my discoveries, few listened. Fortunately, a handful of champion athletes did, and today, my dietary advice is followed by millions of people the world over.
Now, I'm going to show you a new way to use smart nutrients to break through mental walls that can bring productivity and creativity to a grinding halt, costing you time and money each day. Just as marathon runners and other endurance athletes use my dietary advice to avoid hitting the wall, you, too, can use my smart-nutrient formulas and recipes to become a mental athlete.
